WORKSHOP: Identity & Place
Collage workshop with Nic Flanagan, artist and PhD candidate at MTU CCAD
Participants will make small collage works responding to themes of Identity and Place in the SEE exhibition, inspired by processes and works presented in the exhibition.
All materials will be provided, and participants can take their work away.
This will be a relaxed and playful making session responding directly to the exhibition.
We’ll begin by choosing works from the exhibition as inspiration and creating small A5 images through drawing and collage. Taking cues from the style, colour, composition or approach of one artwork, we’ll create a portrait or representation of ourselves; then, responding to another work, we’ll create a place or space for that figure to inhabit. Together, the two images will form a series of diptychs responding to the exhibition’s ideas of identity and place.
