Join a practical two-part executive learning series for senior HR leaders, delivered by The Cantillon Academy @ MTU in collaboration with the Tech Industry Alliance.
This programme will provide HR leaders with clarity, confidence, and practical tools to engage with AI in a rapidly changing workplace, balancing innovation with legal and regulatory responsibility.
Day 1 - Understanding AI in HR
May 21st | 3:00–6:00pm

This session gives a clear, accessible introduction to AI, covering the language of AI, the legal and regulatory issues, and the practical tools shaping modern HR strategy. Delivered by Ronan Emmett, an HR leader with 25 years’ experience, a strong passion for AI and technology, and legal training through King’s Inns, the session brings together business relevance, HR insight and legal perspective in a way that is current, practical and easy to engage with.
Participants will gain:
• A clear understanding of AI in HR and how to discuss it in practical workplace contexts
• Awareness of key legal and regulatory issues relevant to using AI in HR
• Insight into how AI is being applied in areas such as recruitment, learning & development, and workforce planning
• Confidence to evaluate AI tools and engage effectively with vendors and stakeholders
Day 2 – Applied HR Simulation

A highly practical, immersive simulation designed to bring learning into real-world HR decision-making. Participants will work through a Workplace Relations Commission-style case involving a technology-enabled workplace scenario, testing how HR decisions, documentation, and process withstand formal scrutiny.
Participants will gain:
• Experience of a WRC-style procedural simulation
• Insight into technology-driven HR case analysis
• Practical decision-making skills under legal and regulatory pressure
• Improved approach to governance, documentation, and compliance
Who Should Attend:
This series is limited to 20 participants and designed for senior HR leaders and HR management professionals involved in HR strategy, governance & compliance, and talent leadership.
