This Deep Dive offers an exciting opportunity for continuing professional development and delving into the topic of equality, diversity, and inclusion in global citizenship education.

Joanna Dukkipati of Good Day Cork will be discussing existing barriers to diversity in global citizenship education and pathways to participation. She will be diving into the theme of equity, and using creative methods to manifest inclusive spaces and means to take action. This will be a long day so the workshop will be divided in a way that allows everyone to go between rest, work, and play.

This workshop is for you if you are a global citizenship educator, someone who has volunteered locally and/or overseas, someone who is considering volunteering, facilitators for volunteers, and facilitators within education and creative practice space.

This workshop is relevant to anyone who is presently participating in or wants to be involved in community organising for social/system change and liberation.

This workshop is also for those involved in community development, and those who design community programmes.

It’s open to people of all gender identities from all cultural and social backgrounds who are interested in representation, and anyone who holds space for change.

This full day event will be taking place in person in Cork City on Saturday 10th May.

The workshop will be in English, but this shouldn’t deter people who have low-medium level English proficiency.

Tickets are €40 each, with a limited number of reduced-price tickets available for those who need them.

Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is an approach to teaching and learning that aims to foster awareness and understanding of global issues, encouraging critical thinking, empathy, and action towards a more just and sustainable world. In Creativity & Change we take an approach to GCE that prioritises understanding the roots of inequality and injustice and explores the complex structures, systems assumptions power relations and attitudes that create and maintain exploitation and enforced disempowerment.
