Munster Technological University (MTU) Celebrates 50 Years of Graduates from Bishopstown Campus
On Tuesday 11th March, to celebrate 50 years of producing graduates from its Bishopstown Campus, Munster Technological University (MTU) is delighted to announce a guest lecture to mark this special occasion. This event will offer a unique opportunity to reflect on five decades of achievement in higher education while also looking ahead to what the next 50 years will bring for the University.
The event will feature two distinguished speakers:
- Brendan Goggin, Registrar Emeritus of Cork Institute of Technology (CIT), will provide a historical overview of the Bishopstown Campus, from its establishment to its integration into MTU;
- Professor Maggie Cusack, MTU President, will share her vision for the future of the campus and MTU’s aspirations for the next half-century.
Attendees can look forward to hearing from two engaging speakers, and will then have the opportunity to engage in a question and answer session. To ensure accessibility, the event will incorporate both in-person attendance and online, making it available to a global audience.

Campus Tour:
To complement the evening’s events, a guided tour of the Bishopstown Campus will be offered at 5.30pm. This tour provides a chance to explore the campus, learn about its new facilities, and see at first hand the vibrant environment which has fostered excellence over the past 50 years.
Advance registration for this event is mandatory and tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
