ABOUT
Roman Postolatiy
Roman is a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator with a rich and diverse career spanning multiple countries and performance settings. He began dancing at the age of five and later earned a master’s degree in choreography, launching his professional career at just 21. Since then, he has worked nonstop across Turkey, Holland, Germany, and Dubai, performing, and choreographing for a variety of productions.
After spending several years performing on various cruise lines, Roman found a company that became his home for eight years, where he also met his wife. During the pandemic, they relocated to Cork, his wife’s hometown, where they have since settled with their child. They both work at MTU, continue performing in different capacities, and occasionally take on screen work.
With extensive experience choreographing large-scale productions and teaching dancers of all ages and skill levels, Roman specialises in ballet, jazz, ballroom, and partner work. He takes pride in crafting performances that are dynamic, engaging, and tailored to diverse audiences. Whether creating work for professional stages, mentoring students in higher education, or leading accessible dance fitness programs, Roman brings energy, creativity, and expertise to every project.
Currently, Roman works as an assistant lecturer at MTU Cork School of Music, teaching on the BA in Musical Theatre programme with a focus on ballet, partner work, jazz, and ballroom.
Recently, he was a co-choreographer for the Red Riding Hood Panto at the Everyman and shortly after took part in the filming of the Fox TV series Going Dutch as part of the core acrobatic group—look out for him spinning around in episode 1!
Beyond the stage and screen, Roman also leads a fun and energetic dance fitness program. No partner is needed—just bring yourself, learn some steps, make new friends, and burn some energy.
