The Rory Gallagher Theatre is a dedicated perfoming arts venue in the heart of the MTU Bishopstown Campus.

A tiered auditorium with proscenium-arch stage, including 106 fixed seats and 4 allocated wheelchair user spaces.

It was named after Rory Gallagher, the legendary blues guitarist who had a long association with Cork City, and played an acoustic set in the Atrium on MTU Bishopstown Campus, Cork (then RTC Cork) in 1993 as the headline act of the inaugural ArtsFest.

Parking

Limited public car parking is available on the MTU Bishopstown Campus, though car parks are heavily utilised between 8am and 5pm on weekdays. 

Car parks are signposted when arriving at the campus.  Pay car parks are restricted to staff & students, free public car parking is sometimes available in the "Tiered Parking". We recommend you allow up to 15 minutes for walking from the carparking to the venue

 

ALTERNATIVES:

The campus is served by Bus Eireann route 205, 201, and 219, all stopping on the campus.

The campus is a 10minute walk from stops on routes 208 (Curraheen Road, Stop name: "Bishopstown Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh") and 220 (Model Farm Road, next stop after the IDA). 

There are several bike lock points on the MTU Bishopstown Campus.

Cork City bikes have a location on the MTU Bishopstown Campus, at Melbourne Building.
